What is Yoga Massage?

It is an ancient Asian therapy practiced in Thailand. Its origin dates back over 2500 years, and it is mentioned in many ancient writings that it was practiced by wise doctors in the mountains of India. Its essence is very close to that of Yoga, restoring fluidity in the body, relaxing and calming the mind at the same time.

Yoga massage is a form of therapy that gives back to the body what it needs, a careful and delicate touch, and movement in areas where energy blockages exist

With stretching and balancing movements, properly applied pressure on energy points, the body is led to relax, to release tension. The massage is like a sacred dance between the masseuse and the receiver, even if only one of them is active, it invites them both to return to a meditative state, to invite the body to regenerate. During the massage session there is a deep activation of the nervous system, energy rebalancing, which indicates that the receiver can let go, can relax, everything is fine.

The massage is practiced dressed, without using oil or lotion, on a mattress spread on the floor. There is constant body contact between the masseuse and the receiver, but instead of rubbing the muscles, the body is compressed, pulled and stretched. This type of massage is a combination of acupressure and stretching techniques similar to yoga, in which the fingers of the masseuse, the big toes, the elbows, the arms and the legs are used on the muscles of the body of the receiver, on the pressure points and energy lines (“Sen”) to release stagnant energy from energy channels and to calm the mind.

When blockages appear on the energy lines, Sen, the energy stagnates and the body loses its balance, allowing the disease to appear. During the massage session, stretching movements, activating Sen energy lines and acupressure are used to open the energy channels, allowing the body to rebalance and heal. A controlled pressure is applied along the energy lines, gentle balancing, compression and stretching of muscles with yoga stretches to help muscles relax and open joints, allowing free flow of energy.

This type of massage has been used for centuries to balance the body, stimulate blood circulation and release tension along acupressure points

The massage session is a gentle mix of yoga, meditation and massage therapy. The masseuse guides you through postures inspired by Hatha yoga and acts on the whole body with stretching, pressure and conscious use of breathing. Yoga massage works on the flexibility and mobility of the joints and reduces the effects of stress on the body. It is a simple way to restore well-being, calmness, relaxation and fluidity in the body.

The massage is practiced on a mattress placed on the floor, the one receiving the massage being dressed in light and comfortable clothes. This personalized treatment adapts to your limits, flexibility and needs to optimize your return to balance.
